BMW Motorrad has unveiled a special edition of its R 1300 GS Adventure motorcycle to commemorate ten years of operation at its factory in Manaus, Amazonas. According to CNN Brasil, the commemorative run is strictly limited to ten units—one for each year the plant has been active in the Polo Industrial de Manaus (PIM).
The factory, which began production in 2016, is described as BMW Motorrad’s first facility outside Germany dedicated exclusively to motorcycle manufacturing. Over the past decade the plant has expanded its capacity and the range of models assembled locally, reaching a milestone of 150,000 motorcycles produced in Manaus on August 3, 2026.
Each of the ten special‑edition motorcycles receives a unique graphic and finish package developed for the anniversary. This includes exclusive graphics on the fuel tank, side panels, crankcase protector and valve‑cover protectors, as well as a commemorative top case. Every bike is identified by a numbered metal plate engraved with “01/10” to underscore its collector status.
Technologically, all units leave the factory equipped with BMW’s Automated Shift Assistant (ASA). The system automates clutch operation, removing the need for a left‑hand lever. Riders can choose fully automatic gear shifts or manual shifts using the traditional foot‑shift lever without operating the clutch manually.
CNN Brasil notes that the choice of the R 1300 GS Adventure for the tribute reflects the model’s role in achieving the 150,000‑unit production mark at the Manaus plant.
