Carter Center Withdraws From Brazil’s 2026 Election Observation Mission

The U.S. organization told Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court that it could not finance a return after cuts to international aid reduced its funding. The European Union and Organization of American States are expected to lead foreign monitoring efforts.
