The law firm of Viviane Barci de Moraes, wife of Alexandre de Moraes, a justice of Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court (STF), signed a second legal-services contract worth up to R$50 million with Viking Participações, a company represented by banker Daniel Vorcaro, according to documents made public Tuesday.
The agreement, signed on May 12, 2025, provided for three years of legal work. Its scope included legal consulting, representation in administrative proceedings and court cases, and monitoring investigations.
The information comes from a Federal Police report and contracts attached to proceedings before the STF. The documents became public after Justice André Mendonça lifted the confidentiality order in the case involving Vorcaro and Moraes.
How the Contract Worked
Seven days after signing the main agreement, Viking and the law firm signed a separate arrangement detailing how the R$50 million would be paid. R$40 million would come through stakes in two companies connected to aircraft.
One of the companies owned a Legacy 650 business jet. The other was in the process of acquiring an Airbus EC 155 B1 helicopter. Under the agreement, the law firm would receive a 33.33% stake in the company linked to the jet and a 20% stake in the helicopter company. Those holdings would count as payment for legal fees.
The contract also allowed the law firm to use the aircraft from the date of signing, subject to rules governing shared use among the companies’ partners. The remaining R$10 million would be paid through reimbursement of expenses related to the aircraft’s use and acquisition.
Combined Value
The Viking contract followed an earlier agreement between Banco Master and Barci de Moraes. Signed in January 2024, that contract called for 36 monthly payments of R$3 million net, or R$108 million over three years if fully carried out.
Together, the two contracts provided for up to R$158 million in legal fees—roughly USD 29 million at recent exchange rates, an approximate conversion. The documents do not establish in the material provided whether every payment under the agreements was completed.
